A new home at Laureate Fields, Old Felixstowe has brought a complete lifestyle change for Annie Matthews.
Walks by the sea, exploring the coffee shops of Felixstowe and cycling again after a six-year gap are now the daily routine of the 67-year-old who moved out of a high-maintenance beamed cottage in the countryside for a new three-bedroom home.
“The move has surpassed all my dreams. I’m happy with the development, the house and Felixstowe; everything has finally come together for me,” said Annie.
“For the last 15 years I lived in a village in the countryside but living alone and retiring I wanted to move somewhere where there were things to do, and I didn’t have to rely on the car. I can now walk by the sea and I’m trying out all the coffee shops.
“I didn’t realise how much I would enjoy living in a new development. I’ve made friends with the neighbours, and I swapped my old Victorian and Edwardian cottage furniture for modern styles that look great in the new house.
“Having other homes around me makes me feel safe and secure and this has been the perfect move for me.”
Annie bought a Rowe home, which she fell in love with instantly, as she liked the corner design that has her front door open into an open-plan space with the kitchen/diner on one side and the living room on the other. Having decided she wished to purchase on the development Annie snapped up the house when it became available.
“Having visited other developments in the area, I knew Laureate Fields was the right location for me. I looked at various house types and when I learned there was just one of this type left available, I agreed to buy it without visiting it.
“Living in Felixstowe there is so much more to do compared to the village I was in. There is a theatre and cinema three minutes away in the car and I have bought a bicycle again. It is just a little further out from the town, which suits me. I’m very happy.
“Kelly was so supportive all the way through the buying process at Laureate Fields. She was always there at the end of the phone. Making a big move like this on your own is daunting but she could answer every question I had and from the first time I visited to snagging after I moved in.”
A number of residents have relocated to Laureate Fields in favour of the coast and countryside of Suffolk. Laureate Fields is situated next to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty providing a peaceful environment for all the family to enjoy. Meanwhile, Felixstowe town centre is just a short car or bicycle journey away and Ipswich is located only 12 miles from Laureate Fields.
The development offers a variety of 1-4 bedroom properties available for purchase. With prices starting from £199,950, Laureate Fields has catered to a variety of purchasers from first-time buyers to upsizers needing more room for their growing family and retirees like Annie.
